Three key points for air duct installation: sealing, gasket, and reinforcement

Air duct is a material that is frequently used in industry, mainly produced through the second or third line of air duct production. After production is completed, installation is required. So, what key points should be paid attention to during installation?
It should be particularly pointed out that there is a problem of fully applying sealant to the inner corner seams of the air duct. In order to ensure that the inner corner seams of a 4m long air duct (as the standard aluminum foil composite plate length is 4m, there are many 4m long air ducts) can be fully coated with sealant, it is necessary to prepare a long seal. The long seal spray gun length is 2m to ensure that the inner corner seams of a 2-4m long air duct can be fully coated with sealant. This must be strictly implemented as a quality control point. When it is found during inspection that the inner corner seam of the long air duct has not been coated with sealant, all parts must be reworked.
1. Right angle gaskets must be added to the four corners of the installation of air duct connectors
Due to the concentration of internal pressure acting on the duct wall at the corners of the duct. When the side length of the air duct is greater than 320mm, the four corners of the combined air duct can no longer meet its stiffness requirements and are easily deformed under external forces. Therefore, when installing plug-in connectors for rectangular air ducts with a side length greater than 320mm, galvanized right angle gaskets (with a thickness of no less than 0.75mm) should be pasted at the four corners of the duct to increase the overall strength and stiffness of the duct.
2. Sealing treatment is required for the reinforcement of the support inside the air duct
Due to the low strength of the air duct board itself, after the production of the air duct, it is necessary to reinforce the air duct in accordance with the relevant reinforcement regulations of GB50738. Generally, galvanized screw internal support reinforcement is used, and the diameter of the reinforcement screw is not less than 8mm. It should be particularly pointed out that if the sealing treatment is not paid attention to at the reinforced screw threading pipe plate, it will form a hidden danger of air leakage during the operation of the air duct system. When reinforcing the support inside the air duct, it is particularly important to add gaskets on both sides of the air duct wall and seal it with sealant. This process is also the most easily overlooked or cut corners during construction.
